How Can I Optimize My Google Search?

We’ve all been there. Searching for a story, song, or news article for hours on end, because Google doesn’t seem to be on the same page as you. It’s frustrating because it’s supposed to know everything, right?? But because there’s a plethora of information floating around the world wide web, you have to give it the right background information to help you out. Here are our tips on how to get all the answers you’re looking for!

1. Make your keywords as basic as possible

Don’t overload your search tab with “How can I erase the history on my phone or laptop from the last week?” Instead, a simple “Erase my history” will do the trick! Less is better (at least in this case)

2. Search using the voice feature

Try it out! We are in 2023 after all… If you don’t feel like typing it out, use the Google voice feature and see how simple it makes being in the know.

3. Maximize on other search features.

You can use the Image Search feature, or the Find Quick Answer that practically does the work for you. By noting down what other people similarly search for, Google is bringing information closer to you!

 4. Be specific!

From calculations, calendar dates to important years in history, Google has it all! For example, type in 4×260 or “define supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and you will have your answer in a matter of seconds!

 5. Make symbols your friend

Using symbols in your search makes your results more precise. For example using the @ sign to find social media handles, $ for a specific price, or “” quotation marks for an exact match.

See folks, having relevant information within your grasp is not a difficult task at all. The beauty of technology is that you can make it work for you. So by understanding which features are available, you quite literally hold all the information you need in your hands!
